For this beauty review, I tested out Carol’s Daughter Coco Crème Extreme Moisture Collection. This line is made to help with extremely dry hair. I honestly have struggles maintaining moisture in my hair, so I was really interested in seeing how my hair would react to using these products. The Coco Crème Collection includes:
I’ve previously used their Deep Moisture Mask and I love how it always brings back my natural curls. Their website and packaging suggests leaving the mask in your hair for about 3-5 mins, but I normally like to give it at least 20 minutes before rinsing out with cold water. I always apply the mask, after shampooing and conditioning my hair.
One thing that I did differently in my hair routine this time, was to only use ONE product when flat twisting my hair. I NEVER do this lol. I normally use the LOC or LCO method when twisting my hair, using a leave in conditioner, oil, and a curl cream. However, I really was curious to see if the Coco Crème Curl Quenching Coil Enhancing Moisture Butter would do the trick. I feared that without adding a leave in conditioner, my hair would coil up and possibly tangle and without adding an oil, my hair would be left dry. But, to my surprise, my curls were still popping after taking out my twists. I would still suggest adding a lightweight oil to your hair, as mine had a small sheen to it.
Overall, I really like this collection. My hair wasn’t weighed down, or left feeling crunchy or flaky, and the smell of the products is great….not too coconut-y. Several key ingredients of this silicon and paraben free Coco Crème recipe are coconut oil, coconut milk, mango butter, and murumuru butter. These along with other ingredients work together to “offer an extreme moisture experience—leaving hair stronger, shinier and touchably softer.”
